Job Description:

They are seeking a skilled HVAC BIM Technician with a strong focus on mechanical systems for laboratories and clean room environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed, accurate, and coordinated 3D models for HVAC systems within these specialized spaces. You will work closely with design engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure that HVAC models meet both project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* BIM Model Development: Develop and manage detailed 3D BIM models for HVAC systems in laboratories and clean rooms, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Coordination with Engineers & Trades: Collaborate with engineers and other trades to ensure an integrated design approach across all building systems.
* Software Utilization: Create and maintain accurate, data-rich BIM models using Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and other industry-standard software.
* BIM Execution Plans (BEP): Implement and adhere to project-specific BIM Execution Plans and workflows, ensuring all BIM deliverables are met on time.
* Clash Detection: Collaborate with project managers and design teams to provide clash detection and resolve issues early in the design process.
* Documentation and Drawings: Prepare 2D/3D design documentation and drawings for internal review and client submissions.
* Technical Guidance: Support project teams by providing technical guidance on HVAC systems for labs and clean rooms, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
* Quality Control: Conduct quality checks and reviews of BIM models to ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards (BS EN ISO 14644 for clean rooms, etc.).
* Stay Informed: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in BIM and HVAC systems for specialized environments.

Qualifications & Skills:

* Experience: Proven experience as an HVAC BIM Technician, with a focus on laboratories, clean rooms, and controlled environments.
* BIM Software: Proficiency in BIM software, particularly Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD MEP.
* HVAC Design Knowledge: Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles and clean room standards (ISO 14644, ASHRAE guidelines, GMP, etc.).
* BIM Standards: Familiarity with BIM level 2 and other UK BIM standards.
* Collaboration Skills: Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate across disciplines and resolve conflicts in model designs.
* Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
* Time Management: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Desired:

* Educational Background: Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related field.
* Specialized Project Experience: Experience working on large-scale laboratory, pharmaceutical, or healthcare projects.
* Local Knowledge: Knowledge of local regulations and industry requirements in the Berkshire area and across the UK.
* Sustainability Understanding: Understanding of sustainability standards and practices in HVAC design (LEED, BREEAM).
