Dutton Recruitment are partnering with one of our clients to recruit new Support workers to their team in Doncaster. The role is an exciting opportunity to work for a very forwards thinking provider and one where the company is growing organically and could offer future promoting opportunities for strong candidates looking to further progress. The company is ran by two owners, both have been doing this for over 10 years and has a strong senior management team who are always on site or at the end of the phone for support. The company are looking to add support workers due to growth and opening a new home up in the area. There is already one existing home in Denaby and this will be their second 3 bedded service close to their existing site. They also have other services in the South Yorkshire area, all supporting young people with complex needs and behaviours that may challenge. With this in mind they are looking ideally for people with experience of working with young people with challenges, someone passionate and resilient but someone who really wants to make a difference to the lives of young people and achieve outcomes as a a team. The role is 160hrs per month, roughly 40 per week and will consist of a mixture of shifts on a rolling rota to include long days 8aam-11pm and sleep overs. They will consider candidates who have less experience of working with young people but you must have worked with vulnable people and supported clients to achieve outcomes. For people who do not have expeirence of working with young people or their L3 in children & young peoples care you would start on a salary of £11.60ph plus £35 per sleep in - the company would then enroll and put you through your Level 3 and this would then increase. For people who are recruited with their Level 3 in childcare your starting rate would be £12.60ph plus £35 per sleep in.
Responsibilities
* Assist individuals with daily living activities, promoting life skills, supporting young people to be more independent and make healthy life choices.
* Supporting young people to attend appointments out in the community, cooking, baking, sports, going to the cinema and doing things other young people would do if living at home - promoting the development of the young people in your care.
* Ensuring the young people are attending school or college and supporting them throughout their education.
* Daily reports, daily checks, Infection control, bedroom checks, audits, updating notes online.
* Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the quality of life for those you support.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and progress made.
* Utilise IT skills to manage documentation and communicate with team members efficiently.
Requirements
* Candidates MUST be a car driver as you will have access to the company car.
* Previous experience working with children is highly desirable as is a Level 3 in Children and young peoples workforce.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.
* A background in childcare or related fields will is essential - 6 months in the UK as a minimum.
* A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others is crucial for success in this position.
* Flexibility to work 40 hours per week on a rolling rota basis to include long days and sleep ins.
