Senior Project Worker - Supported Housing - Permanent - Expired

Dutton Recruitment are working in partnership with one of our clients to recruit for a passionate, forwards thinking and caring Senior project worker to join their team in a unique opportunity. Our client has supported housing projects in Shirebrook (Mansfield), Rotherham, Chesterfield and Wath Upon Dearne - all of them supporting homeless individuals with varying needs. The organisation work extremely hard to support homeless men and women to get back on their feet and provide all of the tools and support needed to set them up on their way from support with life skills, gaining independence, budgeting, gaining employment or education opportunities, provide advise around tenancies and how to sustain and look after them, pastoral support and always person centered. To be considered for this role you must have a minimum of 6 months paid experience in the UK in a support setting and will have experience of managing a team or supervising others, providing advice, guidance and support to vulnerable people with varying needs. You will ideally have experience within the housing sector, have supported people with addiction and the ideal candidate will have worked with people who have had offending behaviours. You must be kind, passionate, honest and driven and have full right to work in the UK without restrictions. Unfortunately my client can not offer sponsorship.

The role is to work as a senior project worker covering for other senior project workers in their absence, if they are on leave, training, holiday or sabbaticals. You will be guaranteed a minimum of 32 hours per week on days with the opportunity to pick up over time - usually making it up to 40 or 48 hrs if you so wish. You would need to be flexible to cover across the 4 services, you would chose the base service that was nearest to you (Mansfield, Chesterfield, Rotherham or Wath Upon Dearne (females only) and be paid 40ppm if when you were to travel to the other services. You would be flexible to work 4 days a week (8.30-4.30pm) and the client can be flexible for you to chose the days to fit in with your lifestyle/commitments etc. You may on occasion be asked to work a night shift to support the needs of the projects but this will only be occasionally and with notice. You would be given extensive training however having some experience or exposure within the housing sector would be desirable and definitely having experience in a senior capacity, supervising staff is essential.

This role is on a temporary to permanent basis meaning that you would initially work for the first 12 weeks on a temporary basis through Dutton Recruitment, if all went well on week 13 you would then transfer over to our client and work for them on a permanent basis. The hours, role and salary would all stay the same as would the responsibilities.

General roles and responsibilities:

* To ensure the health, safety, security and operational ability of the Project and its residents.
* To deputise for the Manager, in their absence
* Involvement in the resident selection process, identifying suitable individuals. Responsibility for applications, assessment interviews and issues of the maintenance of occupancy levels.
* Contacting external agencies as necessary.
* Maintaining waiting lists and ensuring maximum occupancy.
* Ensuring rooms and the general Project environment is maintained and cleaned to a high standard.
* Collecting, recording and issuing receipts for service charges.
* Monitoring payment of rent and service charges, maximizing project income
* Completing housing benefit forms and relevant tenancy forms for new residents.
* Providing general advice to occupants regarding benefit entitlement.
* Inspecting property and reporting/actioning of day-to-day repairs.
* Ensuring agreed repairs and maintenance are carried out promptly and to a high standard.
* Ensuring the property is maintained in a secure condition, conducting regular checks on the property and undertaking and securing outside doors.
* Ensuring residents understand their license agreement, their rights and obligations and comply with the terms of their occupancy.
* Ensuring all breaches of the occupancy are investigated and appropriate action taken.
* Assisting with the decision making, administration and maintenance of occupancy agreements, providing information and advice on issues as they arise.
* Actioning cases where an eviction/termination notice is proposed against a resident.
* Consulting with residents and actively chairing residents meetings, encouraging participation in decision making processes that affect the running of the project
* Encouraging and assist resident participation, to ensure maximum resident engagement
* Leading morning devotions with residents
* Spending time with residents in key working one to one sessions, assessing, reviewing and reporting the progress made.
* Overseeing the 10 plus purposeful daytime activity programme for residents, ensuring effective community links, partnership working, monitoring progress and keeping system records.
* Providing the Manager with a fortnightly review of all pastoral care taking place in the hostel and suggesting improvements, and offering professional development for staff.

Please note that as this is a Christian Charity you will need to be able Able to articulate a personal experience of the Christian faith, able to engage in the role of prayer in operational processes, and able to lead Christian devotions with the residents.
