Quick-fire Q&A - Jem Donnelly

This week we're talking to Jem Donnelly. Jem is a Resourcer for Sheffield Engineering, he spends most of his day filling the roles that our Consultants bring in. Alongside this, he also assists with a number of admin tasks while training to becomes a Consultant.
1. What was your first ever job?
I used to deliver the Sheffield Star to local shops with a friend’s dad during the holidays back when I was 15.
2. How long have you been in recruitment?
Just over 1 year exclusively.
3. What's your favourite thing about the industry?
I like how varied it is, it’s very hard to get bored when there are so many different things keeping me busy. I also like that hard work is recognised and rewarded!
4. ...and what’s your least favourite thing?
I know its cliché, but it is very frustrating when a lot of work has gone into filling a role and building a good relationship with a candidate just for them to e-mail you at 1am to say they won’t be attending…
5. What made you want to join Dutton Recruitment?
I was looking for a career change and as I have had some experience with internal recruitment in previous roles and it was something I really wanted to explore. I researched Dutton and I thought the culture seemed like a good fit for me - pleased to say I was correct!
6. What's something you can't live without at work?
My Colleagues, they keep things interesting!
7. Tea or Coffee?
I enjoy both really, as a rule, it would be fresh coffee, tea then instant coffee.
8. What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work?
I’m excited for the weather to get better so I can start going on camping trips with the Family!
9. What is your main goal at Dutton Recruitment?
Well, my next objective is to become a consultant, start billing and making money for the business.
10. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I have always wanted to visit Japan, I love the idea that the most technologically advanced cities in the world are there while they have also managed to hold on to some of the ancient culture!
