Quick-fire Q&A - Ashley Darwent

This week we’re talking to Ashley Darwent, a Trainee Recruitment Consultant at our Rotherham branch. He works within the Construction Industry, helping to fill open roles whilst also building up a desk of his own.

1. What was your first ever job?

Delivering new bins in Blackburn whilst I was still at school!

2. How long have you been in recruitment?

Roughly 4 years.

3. What's your favourite thing about the industry?

I love receiving excellent feedback after months & months of hard work making a placement!

4. ...and what's your least favourite thing?

Definitely Simon’s terrible jokes...

5. What made you want to join Dutton Recruitment?

It was a chance to join somewhere with a good foundation that offered me the chance to progress and gain my qualifications within recruitment!

6. What's something you can't live without at work?

Phone, laptop and great banter in the office.

7. Tea or Coffee?

Definitely tea - I can't go a day without it!

8. What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work?

Favourite? Doing absolutely nothing - it’s great!

9. What is your main goal at Dutton Recruitment?

To progress up the ranks whilst ensuring our clients the best possible service.

10. If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

I’d have to say Tenerife. I went recently in November, and it proved to me just how much I'm not built for the cold!
